Stock settings and reservations
By the end of this page you know every Stock Settings field, what row balances mean, and where to review reserving orders.
Stock Settings dialog
- Open Stock Management (
/dashboard/stock-management). - Click the Settings button to open the Stock Settings dialog.
- Set the four fields:
- Low stock threshold: the number at or below which a product is classified as low and appears under the Low filter. Alert only; never blocks sales.
- Allow backorders: when enabled, selling continues after quantity reaches zero and backorders are recorded; by default selling stops at zero.
- Hide out-of-stock products: hides zero-quantity items from the storefront.
- Reservation duration: the stock reservation lease as a number plus unit (minute / hour / day / week / month).
- Click Save.
Row-level policies
From any row actions menu set per-product policies: track stock, allow backorders, force out of stock, and minimum quantity. A product without stock tracking is never reserved or deducted.
Physical, reserved, available
- Physical: the on-hand warehouse balance.
- Reserved: quantities of orders created but not yet delivered.
- Available (sellable): physical minus reserved.
Reviewing reserving orders
On a row with reserved quantity open the reserved orders dialog to see the orders (20 per page) and their statuses: pending, paid, and shipped, with a link to each order.
Permissions
Staff accounts need the inventory permission: view for the list and export, edit for quantity changes, and create for import.
