Centralized SEO workspace on Vareons for Egypt stores

The Vareons SEO workspace is a central dashboard page that gathers search-visibility editing for every site page, catalog item, and content entry, with sitemap and robots.txt generation for each active domain.

The SEO workspace opens at /dashboard/seo in the dashboard and runs seven tabs: regular pages, static pages, products, bundles, blogs, services, and sitemap plus robots. The route supports deep links via ?tab=, so any single tab can be shared directly.

The regular-pages tab lists dynamic pages with search, and an Edit button opens the page-type SEO form, saved through PUT /api/dashboard/seo/pages/[path] inside WebsiteLayout.metaTags.pages. The static-pages tab lists static pages and saves through PUT /api/dashboard/seo/static-pages/[slug] inside WebsiteLayout.metaTags.staticPages, keeping slug and path consistent with the storefront route.

The products and bundles tabs list items with search, and Edit opens the product- or bundle-type SEO form, saved through PUT /api/dashboard/seo/products/[productId] or bundles/[bundleId] by merging the seo object into the item data.seo. The blogs tab lists posts with a status badge (draft or published) and saves through PUT /api/dashboard/seo/blogs/[blogId] into the post's structured SEO field. The services tab lists non-deleted services filtered by the merchant business type and saves through PUT /api/dashboard/seo/services/[serviceId] inside the service payload.seo.

One unified SEO form serves all six types: Arabic and English tabs, a basic section with the title (60-character counter), description (160-character counter), and keywords, plus a collapsible advanced section with the author name, a robots directive from four options (default index, follow plus noindex, nofollow, index, nofollow, and noindex, follow), and Open Graph fields (share title, description, image, and type — product for products, bundles, and services, article for blogs, website for pages). There is no manual canonical input; canonical and hreflang links are generated automatically per language.

The sitemap and robots tab shows a statistics card (total pages, products, bundles, services, and Arabic plus English URLs), then a Download Sitemap button via GET /api/dashboard/seo/sitemap/generate and a Download Robots.txt button via GET /api/dashboard/seo/robots/generate for each active domain. The sitemap is built only from published, non-deleted items while respecting noindex directives and emitting Arabic and English URLs, while the robots file disallows /dashboard, /api, /admin, /live-editor, and /acquisition, points to the sitemap, and allows the llms.txt file.

Setup steps in Vareons

  1. Open the SEO workspace

From the dashboard open /dashboard/seo and move across the seven tabs: regular pages, static pages, products, bundles, blogs, services, and sitemap plus robots. A tab can be opened directly via ?tab=, for example /dashboard/seo?tab=products.

  2. Edit a page SEO record

In the regular or static pages tab search for the page, click Edit to open the SEO form, update the title, description, and keywords in Arabic and English, then click Save until the success message appears.

  3. Edit a product, bundle, blog, or service SEO record

Open the products, bundles, blogs, or services tab, search for the item, click Edit, update its fields, and save. Product and bundle data is stored inside the item data, blogs in their dedicated SEO field, and services inside the service payload.

  4. Set the advanced fields

Open the advanced section of the form to set the author name, the robots directive (index, follow by default), and Open Graph fields such as the share title, description, and image. Do not enter canonical links manually since they are generated automatically per language.

  5. Download the sitemap and robots file

Open the sitemap and robots tab, review the statistics card, then click Download Sitemap or Download Robots.txt for each active domain. The sitemap is built from published items only while respecting noindex.

  6. Verify the visibility

After saving, reopen the form to confirm the values persisted, check that blocked pages carry noindex, and confirm the robots file disallows dashboard, admin, and API paths.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find SEO settings in the dashboard?

At /dashboard/seo, which gathers seven tabs: regular and static pages, products, bundles, blogs, services, and sitemap plus robots, with deep-link support via ?tab=.

Do I edit product SEO from the same place as page SEO?

Yes, from the same workspace but a different tab: pages are stored in WebsiteLayout.metaTags, while products and bundles live in the item data.seo, blogs in their dedicated SEO field, and services inside the service payload.

Which fields are available in the SEO form?

The title with a 60-character counter, the description with a 160-character counter, and keywords in Arabic and English, plus an advanced section with the author name, a robots directive from four options, and Open Graph title, description, image, and type fields.

Do I enter canonical links manually?

No. Canonical and hreflang links are generated automatically per language from the page data, and the SEO form has no manual input for them.

How do I get the sitemap and robots file?

From the sitemap and robots tab click Download Sitemap or Download Robots.txt for each active domain. The sitemap is built from published items only while respecting noindex, with Arabic and English URLs.

What does the robots file block?

It disallows /dashboard, /api, /admin, /live-editor, and /acquisition paths, points to the sitemap, and allows the llms.txt file.

Troubleshooting

1) If a page is missing from the list, confirm it exists in the site data and that slug and path match the storefront route. 2) If an edit does not persist, reopen the form, confirm the success message, then refresh the list. 3) If a blocked page appears in the sitemap, confirm its robots directive is set to noindex, since the sitemap respects it. 4) If an unpublished item appears in the sitemap, check its state (published versus draft or deleted), since the sitemap includes published items only. 5) If a domain is missing from the sitemap tab, confirm the domain is active in the domain settings.

Important limitations

• The SEO workspace edits metadata only and does not create new pages or products. • The sitemap is built from published, non-deleted items only. • Blocked pages are excluded via noindex, not deleted from the site. • Canonical links are generated automatically and are not edited manually.
